Treatment at Medipol, Istanbul —
arranged from Nigeria.
Doc2Go Health is an official partner of Medipol International Patient Center in Istanbul, part of Medipol Healthcare Group. If a Nigerian specialist or your own doctor has told you that you need treatment abroad, we review your case, send your records to the right Medipol specialists, put a written treatment plan and cost estimate in front of you before you commit, coordinate your stay, and continue your follow-up at home in Abuja when you return.
JCI-accredited hospital
Medipol Mega University Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International as an Academic Medical Center Hospital.
A plan before you travel
Specialist review and a written treatment plan with estimated cost before you commit to anything.
Follow-up at home
Your reports come back to us, and a Doc2Go physician continues your care in Abuja.
Who Medipol is, and what our role is
Medipol Healthcare Group is a private hospital group in Istanbul. Its Medipol Mega University Hospital is accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Center Hospital, and the group runs dedicated specialist centres including IVF and movement disorders. Its International Patient Center handles patients who travel to Istanbul for treatment.
Doc2Go Health is an independent, physician-led healthcare company in Abuja. We are not part of Medipol, and we do not perform treatment abroad. Our role is the part that usually goes wrong for patients travelling from Nigeria: deciding whether travel is justified at all, getting complete records to the right specialist, making sure you understand the plan and the estimate before you pay anything, and making sure someone at home owns your care after you return.
From Abuja to Istanbul and back, step by step
Consultation with a Doc2Go physician
We review your diagnosis and records, and tell you honestly whether treatment abroad is justified, or whether it can be done well in Nigeria.
Records prepared and referred
We organise your reports, imaging and results into a complete referral and send it to the relevant Medipol specialists.
Written treatment plan and estimate
You receive the specialist opinion, the proposed treatment and an estimated cost. We go through it with you in plain language.
You decide
No obligation. If another accredited centre suits your case better, we will tell you, and arrange that instead.
Admission and stay coordinated
We coordinate admission dates, travel timing and communication while you are in Istanbul, and stay in contact with you and your family throughout.
Home, with follow-up
Your discharge reports return to us. A Doc2Go physician continues follow-up at home in Abuja: reviews, medication, laboratory tests and wound checks as your plan requires.
What the partnership does, and does not, mean for you
What it means
- A direct referral route: your records reach the relevant Medipol specialists through us
- Specialist review and a written treatment plan with estimated cost before you commit
- Coordination of admission, travel and communication while you are in Istanbul
- Your reports returned to us, so follow-up continues at home in Nigeria
What it does not mean
- It does not limit your options. Where another accredited centre suits your case better, we will tell you
- Doc2Go does not perform treatment. Medipol's specialists do, and bill for it directly
- Your treatment money does not pass through us
How the money works
Treatment cost depends on the diagnosis, the procedure and the length of stay, so no honest figure can be given before a specialist has reviewed your records. What we can tell you is exactly how payment is structured.
| Doc2Go | A transparent consultation and coordination fee, agreed with you upfront before any work begins. Payable in NGN, USD, GBP or EUR. |
| The hospital | Treatment is delivered and billed by Medipol. You pay the hospital directly, against the written estimate you received before travelling. |
| Travel and stay | Flights, accommodation outside hospital, and a companion's costs are separate. We help you plan for them so the total is clear in advance. |
| Back home | Follow-up visits in Abuja are charged at Doc2Go's published rates. |
Records that speed up a specialist review
Incomplete records are the most common reason a review from abroad is delayed. If you have them, gather:
- The written diagnosis and the most recent specialist or referral letter
- Imaging (CT, MRI, X-ray) with the actual images on disc or download link, not only the report
- Pathology or biopsy reports, where relevant
- Recent blood results, and discharge summaries from any admissions
- A list of current medication and known allergies
Missing something? Start anyway. Part of our work is identifying what a specialist will need and arranging it, including home laboratory collection in Abuja.
